History of D.R.E.A.M.S.
Clinic of D.R.E.A.M.S. was created by Danyel M. Davis, born and raised in Oakland, California. Davis is the product of a lower-income neighborhood where dreams turned into a reality. Growing up in North Oakland very close to the city of Emeryville she attend Emery High School where she develop her love for the game of Volleyball. Being a top rank athlete Davis later earned herself a scholarship to play volleyball at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Davis’ college experiences inspired her to help the friends and family she left behind in California. Following Graduation in spring 2008 Davis went back to California to teach in Richmond, as a P.E. teacher for two years. Teaching became her passion but it just wasn’t enough she wanted more.
Clinic of D.R.E.A.M.S. was a dream for her and her co-founder Jasmin U.C. Siaw that later became a reality. Siaw and Davis met in middle school where their friendship quickly turned into an everlasting sisterly bond. Siaw who is a native of Germany came to the United States at the age of 7. Siaw was very active like Davis they were volleyball team-mates in High School. After High School Siaw got engaged and had to lovely boys who brightens her life day by day. Siaw went off to Job Crop and later attend Heald College where she studied to become a Medical Assistant. In looking at all the different possibilities that one can achieve in their life time Davis and Siaw consider giving back to their neighborhood the greatest gift ever.
Anyone can dream but it takes a person with inner power to make that dream a reality. The purpose of the clinic is to help individuals develop their skills, physically and mentally. In the case of clinic of D.R.E.A.M.S. the goal is to allow each individual willing to make their dream a reality.
